ABOUT US

I’m Meredith!

I love rescue dogs, volunteering at my local “kill shelter”, advocating for bully breeds, fostering nervous dogs, and napping with Winnie & Louie.

I always thought “pitbulls” were cute but I didn’t know anything about them until I got into the rescue world. Funnily enough, I adopted Winnie because I thought she looked like a Rhodesian Ridgeback (a breed I was obsessed with as a kid) - turns out she’s a bully mutt!

If it wasn’t for Winnie and Louie I wouldn’t be as passionate as I am about rescuing dogs and advocating for bully breeds.

This is Winnie…

Winnie was rescued in northern Florida. She was found in a common dog dumping area with another dog (who was also rescued and later adopted!). My husband’s mom started fostering Winnie and as soon as I met her I knew she was my dog.

…and this is Louie!

Louie was only 2 months old when she was found living under an abandoned house with her two brothers and taken to a small shelter in rural Tennessee. Luckily she hitched a ride on a transport to Chicago and we adopted her.
